Open a new image 600 x 600, with a white bg and 16 million in colors.
Add a new vector layer and then choose the shapes tool. Set your background
color to RGB 255/206/187 and the foreground color to black. Set your
shape to ellipse and then holding down your shift key, draw out the
shape.
|
|

Next set your foreground color to white and also your background color
to white, keep the same settings as above, this is the white's of the
eyes behind the black part she has. Make them large enough to add the
other parts of the eyes but no too big. (Fig. 2) Then change the foreground
and background colors both to black and make that black center part
I was referring to in the whites of the eyes. (Fig.3) Then change the
colors both back to white again but this time select the triangle shape
and make the triangular shape in the center of her eye.(Fig.4)
|
|

Staying with the triangle shape, change your foreground and background
colors both to red. Draw out the shape on the face, this will be the
nose so center it in the face below the eyes but be sure and leave room
for a mouth. (Fig.5) Now grab the line/draw tool and set your foreground
color to black and the background color to null. In the tool control
palette, set the line to point to point, width of one like mine here.
(Fig.6) Then click the button that says custom on it, you will then
see the customize box options (Fig.7). Change your end cap on the LEFT
side only to the one you see here and match the other settings like
mine. Choose save as new, when promted name the line, I named mine mouth.
Then click back on your image and make sure you are working on the vector
layer and above the head object and draw a line on the left side for
the mouth.
|
|

Leave enough space in the center to allow for the small ellipse to be
placed in the center here in a couple minutes. Then do the same thing
again for the other side of the mouth using the same settings. (Fig.8)
Then choose the vector selection tool and select one of your line objects.
Right click and choose the node edit from the menu. Hold down the control
key to add a node mid way between the original two nodes you made for
the mouth. (Fig.9) I color coded the added node in yellow on the screen
shot here.
|
|

Pull the node down a little to make a curve in the mouth. Right click
the node and choose the node type, then asymmetrical from the menu.
|
|

You should now see a little circle and an arrow on your node. Use these
to adjust the curves of the line to make it appear more like a smile.
(Fig.10) Choose the vector selection tool and select the other line
for the mouth and do the same thing. (Fig.11) Then choose the shapes
tool again and set both your background and foreground colors back to
red. We are going to make the little ellipse in the mouth. Draw out
the shape in between the two lines that you just made and position it
as best you can with the lines. (Fig.11) At this point if you have not
saved your image yet this would be a good time to do it so you don't
lose any of your hard work. Just choose file, then save as and name
the file, make sure that you save as a PSP file though so you don't
lose your vector objects and your layers. At this point too it might
be a good idea to rename the layers and objects in the layers palettes
so they we can stay in sync with one another. See how I name each item
on my layers palette below. (Fig. 13)
|
|
|
|

Now add a new raster layer and make sure that it is behind the head
layer. If it is not then click the layer, hold down and drag it below
the head layer. (Fig.14) We are going to make the hair. Choose the tubes
tool and select the rope tub from the selections. Set it to match the
settings I have here.(Fig.15) Working on your new raster layer, click
around the head and add some hair but not a lot because we will also
add on top of the head layer to make it more realistic looking. (Fig.16)
|
|

Next add another raster layer but make sure it is ABOVE the head layer
this time. If it is not, click and hold down, drag the layer above the
head layer. (Fig.17) Choose the tubes tool again if it is not already
selected and add hair to the head on the new raster layer. Use the same
settings as in figure 15 above. I know I know it doesn't much look like
her yet does it ? she isn't blonde you are saying right ? LOL Well when
you are done adding hair (Fig.18) we will fix that.
|
|

Now to change the hair color. Click on one of the hair layers to make
it the active layer. Then choose COLORS and colorize. Set your settings
like mine.(Fig.19) You should then see your hair layer you are working
on turn to a red color. If needed you may have to adjust your settings
a notch or two. Monitor gamma's vary so your setting may not be exact
to mine. Once happy with the color, click the other hair layer to make
it the active layer and choose the same thing again, colors and then
colorize and you should see all the hair red. (Fig.20) hey she's getting
there now eh? LOL
|
|
Alllllllrighty then. I
think we are done with the head for now. There will be some tweaking
to do later when we get the body together and assembled. Head over to
the body page if you would like to continue. Oh come on.. you made it
THIS far ! LOL
