Torn
Single Page |
Multiple
Pages, not torn
Step 1 WORKING ON IT !! HOPE TO FINISH THIS ONE BY FRIDAY. THERE ARE 3 COMPLETE ENDINGS BELOW YOU CAN USE UNTIL THEN. :o) |
Step 1 Grab
the mask HERE. Open it in PSP and minimize it out of your work area. Working on the
duplicate image that we made that it is still in layers, undo your steps
back to the AGED FILTER, then increase the size of your canvas, make
sure that you have your bg color set to white and choose IMAGE and
INCREASE CANVAS and enter new width of 700 x 600. You should see
the image size increase. (the outlined red area right) |
Step
2
Choose the AIRBRUSH tool again and it should still be set at the settings we used before so just make sure that your foreground is set to light grey and the foreground texture to crumpled paper 2. Incase yours is not still set here are the settings again that we used back on the first page.
Airbrush the new white area that we added as "extra canvas" Blend it as well as you can with the existing image. Then reapply the aged newspaper settings, again, mine was 63. Add a new layer. |
Step
3
Working on
the new layer, then choose MASK and NEW, FROM IMAGE and choose the mask
you have minimized in corner. Source Lum checked, invert
checked. Choose whatever color you want the bg to be, I chose
white for this particular one and flood fill the mask layer. |
Now choose MASK and DELETE. Yes to MERGE and you should have something like mine here giving the torn edges look. Choose LAYERS and MERGE ALL FLATTEN. |
Choose your wand and click inside the masked area, SELECTIONS, INVERT then choose SELECTIONS and PROMOTE TO LAYER. You should now have a copy of the paper promoted on to it's own layer. To get the multiple pages look simply make duplicate layers, turn off the layers you are not working on and add drop shadows to each layer. |
After you add the shadows and get things positioned where you want them choose LAYERS and MERGE ALL FLATTEN. And you know how your newspaper ! Hey I never said it was going to be a masterpiece ! ROFL Send them to me if you come up with something neat ! Would love to see what you have come up with !! I will add it to the results page for show along with your name and link to your site.
End |
Now choose MASK and DELETE and yes to merge with current layer. In your layers palette now click on the mask layer you just made (black filled) and change the blend mode to BURN. (far right in layers palette) At this point I went to EFFECTS and then BLUR too to help with the flames and make them not quite so sharp. Choose layers merge, all flatten. |
