Multiple Tubes in one
Continued
|
If you remember at the beginning I had said that all tubes must be at least 24 million colors, have a tranparency and only one layer, obviously we have more than one layer here since we pasted six hearts so before we can export what we need to do is go to LAYERS and then MERGE VISIBLE. Do NOT choose merge all flatten, this will remove the transparency and but a white bg behind the hearts. Once you have done this you should have only one layer containing all your hearts with a transparent bg behind them (the checkboard). Make sure before you merge them that you are satisfied with the placement because once they are merged you can NOT move the individual heart images around any longer. Your layers palette should show only one layer once you have merged them.(FIG.5)
Now let's export that puppy and see if our tube works. Hee hee. Choose FILE and then EXPORT and then PICTURE TUBE from the menu. You will be presented with another dialog box. Enter the settings like mine here.
Now just to explain a little. We entered 3 for the cells across because we have 3 heart images at 150 wide. Remember? And we entered 2 cells for the down since we have two rows of 3. Thus giving us the total of 6 cells, 6 images. See ? Clear as mud fer ya ? LOL If you don't understand something please don't hesitate to email me and I will do my best to explain it. Now to cover the placement modes briefly, if you click the arrow beside the placement modes you will notice that you have another option, this will become your default settings when you choose this tube. This option is also in the control palette for any and all tubes that you use. You can access it by clicking the SECOND tab in the control palette. If you created the tube it will automatically be set to whatever you set it to at the time of creating it, if it was created by someone else then it could very well be something different than what you are used to using.
Selection mode is the same way. I usually just set mine to random for both. This can also be accessed from the control palette once the tube has been created by clicking the second tab like you did for the placement modes.
Go ahead and feel free
to play around and test out your tube. Open a new image 400 x 400 and
choose the tubes tool
That about does it for the tubes. If you are still having troubles with anything please email me and I will do my best to help you if I can. I have been having some email troubles though so if I don't answer you immediately email me again to make sure that I received it !! |
