ACROBAT 

 Acrobat is part of a set of applications developed by Adobe to create and view PDF files. Acrobat is used to create the PDF files, and the freeware Acrobat Reader is used to read the PDF files.

Alignment 

 Positioning of a block of text, or an image.  Can be either LEFT, RIGHT or CENTER.

 

ALT-attribute  

An image source tag in HTML that gives an alternate text choice in place of the graphics.  Not everyone surfs with the images displaying in their browsers.  Place your mouse over the "A" splat image above and leave there.  You will see an ALT-text for the image.

Animated Gif 

 A file format used to save a conserve animations.  Originally developed by Compuserve.

Anti-Aliasing  

Smoothing and blending of pixels to blend together.  Prevents the infamous "jaggies".

Bandwidth

Bandwidth is the amount of information your connection to the Internet can carry. 

 

Bevel

Adding a beveled effect to an image gives it a "raised" appearance.  It highlights and shadows certain areas of an image to create the effect.


Bitmap (bmp)

An image stored in a certain format that is created by grouping the pixels together to create the image.  Examples:  jpg , tiff, png formats.
